Picturesque park that is a popular spot for picnics, birthday parties and weddings. The 1936 band rotunda is a popular feature as it provides shelter in the event of inclement weather. Additionally, the view from, and the romantic history of White Horse Point at the northern edge of Elkington Park is another reason why this is a popular location. Amenities close by (right next to playground area). Also very close to Dawn Fraser outdoor Swimming Pool.
REVIEW
A lovely spot close to the water and great to visit any time of the day. A fairly basic small playground area with swings and an enclosed area with slippery dip, mini-rock climbing, walking bridge, and monkey bars. There are no shade sails over the playground, but plenty of big old trees for protection, and the Jacaranda trees, when in bloom, are absolutely divine. Plenty of grassy area to run around on and a path for scooters. The Rotunda is a highlight and great for a small size gathering if the weather is a little drizzly.
