Dawn Fraser Baths - Balmain

Tidal flow salt water harbour pool in Elkington Park, named afer "Dawn Fraser" Olympic swimmer who swam and trained here as a girl. Its swimming club, Balmain Swimming Club, formed in 1884 is probably the oldest in Australia, and meets for all ages, from juniors to 'Golden Oldies', every Saturday afternoon during the summer season.

Solar heating ensures hot water in the showers.

The kiosk serves hot food, snacks, ice creams and cappuccinos.

At low tide a beach forms for the children to build sandcastles. The Baths are available for after hours function hire (conditions apply). So too is a marquee, prices on application. A great location for a unique and memorable way to celebrate an occasion and create an atmosphere with a difference.
